Betano enters the 2026/27 European football season with three club partnerships that illustrate how differently a bookmaker can use sponsorship rights across major markets. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and FC Porto all give the brand access to large and highly engaged football audiences, but the agreements are not copies of one another. At Tottenham, Betano is visible on first-team training wear during 2026/27 before the relationship changes into a regional betting partnership. At Aston Villa, the brand has moved from the front of the shirt to the sleeve following changes in Premier League sponsorship rules. At FC Porto, meanwhile, Betano remains the main sponsor and retains prominent shirt exposure under a renewed agreement running until 2029. Together, the three deals show a strategy based less on buying the same advertising position everywhere and more on adapting football sponsorship to each club, market and regulatory environment.
The timing of the three partnerships is significant. Kaizen Gaming, the company behind Betano, announced a new three-year agreement with Tottenham Hotspur on 2 July 2026, followed by a three-year extension with Aston Villa on 23 July and a renewed FC Porto agreement on 30 July. All three arrangements therefore form part of Betano’s current European football strategy rather than being legacy deals inherited from an earlier stage of the brand’s growth. The agreements also run broadly towards the same point: the Tottenham relationship continues through 2029, while the Aston Villa and FC Porto deals run until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Yet their commercial roles are deliberately different. For Tottenham’s men’s first team, Betano is an Official Partner during 2026/27 and appears on training kit used around matches, as well as media backdrops, pitch-side LED advertising and stadium screens. Aston Villa now carries the Betano logo on the left sleeve of its official shirts rather than on the front. FC Porto provides the most prominent traditional shirt position of the three: Betano continues as Main Sponsor, with its branding on the front of the first team and B team match and training shirts. The renewed Porto agreement also adds a presence on the sleeve of the women’s team.
This variety matters because football sponsorship is no longer simply a contest for the largest logo position. A modern agreement can combine television visibility, digital content, supporter events, social media, hospitality, matchday advertising and the use of club intellectual property across multiple countries. For Betano, working with clubs in England and Portugal creates several points of contact with supporters instead of relying on one uniform sponsorship model. It also allows the company to retain football visibility when regulation changes the advertising rights that clubs can sell.
The most important regulatory change affecting Betano’s English partnerships took effect after the 2025/26 season. Premier League clubs had collectively agreed to remove gambling companies from the front of matchday shirts from the start of 2026/27. The measure does not mean that betting sponsorship has disappeared from Premier League football. Other forms of commercial association remain possible, subject to applicable rules and football’s Code of Conduct for Gambling Related Agreements. That is why the current Tottenham and Aston Villa arrangements rely on training wear, sleeve branding, stadium exposure and other rights rather than a gambling logo occupying the main front-of-shirt position.
Aston Villa provides a particularly clear example of that transition. Betano first became the club’s Principal and Front of Shirt Partner under a two-year agreement announced in April 2024, with its branding appearing on the men’s shirts from the 2024/25 season. That arrangement covered the final two Premier League seasons before the voluntary restriction came into effect. Instead of ending the association when front-of-shirt gambling branding was removed, Aston Villa and Betano agreed in July 2026 to continue working together for another three seasons. The logo moved to the left sleeve, while the broader partnership was retained.
Tottenham approached the same environment from a different starting point. Its three-year Betano agreement began in 2026 rather than being converted from an existing front-of-shirt sponsorship. During 2026/27, Betano appears on men’s first-team training wear used around fixtures, while also receiving stadium and media visibility. From the following season, the arrangement changes again, with Betano becoming Tottenham’s Official Betting Partner for Europe and Latin America through to 2029. This staged structure gives both sides a way to use football sponsorship without depending on a single advertising asset for the entire contract.
Tottenham offers Betano access to one of English football’s largest international audiences. When announcing the agreement, Kaizen Gaming cited a global Tottenham audience of more than 600 million and a social media following exceeding 130 million. Those figures help explain why a partnership can be commercially important even without Betano appearing on the front of the match shirt. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium provides regular television exposure through LED boards and large screens, while the club’s digital channels allow sponsorship activity to reach supporters who may rarely attend matches in London.
The regional element of the future agreement is also notable. From 2027/28, Betano is due to become Tottenham’s Official Betting Partner in Europe and Latin America. Those territories fit with the bookmaker’s wider football sponsorship footprint. Betano already has substantial football associations across European countries, while Latin America has become another major area of activity through club, national-team and competition sponsorships. Using Tottenham in both regions therefore links an internationally recognised Premier League club with markets where the Betano name is already connected to football.
Aston Villa offers a different type of value because Betano has already spent two seasons building an association with the club. The relationship began in 2024 when Betano entered Premier League shirt sponsorship as Villa’s principal partner. Since then, Aston Villa’s international profile has expanded through European competition. When the extension was announced in July 2026, Kaizen Gaming highlighted the club’s UEFA Europa League success and its return to Champions League football as part of the period covered by the original relationship. The new sleeve arrangement allows Betano to retain that established association rather than starting again with a completely different English club.
Training-wear sponsorship gives Betano a type of exposure that differs from match-shirt branding. Tottenham confirmed that the company’s branding would appear on first-team training kit in the lead-up to men’s fixtures during 2026/27, along with media backdrops. Those environments can appear repeatedly in photographs, pre-match broadcasts, club videos and coverage of players arriving or preparing for matches. Tottenham also specified that the Betano-branded training range would not be included in retail inventory for the season, meaning the arrangement is focused on team and media exposure rather than selling supporter clothing carrying the bookmaker’s logo.
At Aston Villa, sleeve sponsorship keeps Betano directly connected to competitive match shirts. Although the logo is smaller and less central than it was during the front-of-shirt agreement, it remains visible during Premier League matches and other fixtures where sponsorship rules allow it. More importantly, the extension preserves continuity. Supporters who saw Betano as Villa’s principal partner from 2024 do not encounter an entirely new relationship in 2026/27; instead, the existing association moves into a different commercial format. That continuity can be valuable when a sponsor has already invested time and money in building recognition around a particular club.
Both agreements also place greater emphasis on supporter engagement than a shirt logo alone can provide. Tottenham has said the partnership will include engagement opportunities and exclusive experiences for supporters, while the Aston Villa extension is intended to continue fan activities, community projects and experiences for supporters around the world. Such elements are important because sponsorship is more useful to a betting company when football supporters repeatedly encounter the brand through club-related content and events rather than only seeing a logo for a few seconds during a match broadcast.

FC Porto represents the longest established relationship among the three clubs. Betano has worked with the Portuguese side since 2021, and the agreement announced on 30 July 2026 extends the partnership for another three seasons through 2028/29. Unlike in the Premier League, the renewed deal keeps Betano in the primary front-of-shirt position. The logo remains on the official match and training shirts of both FC Porto’s first team and B team, giving the bookmaker a level of visual prominence that is no longer available to gambling sponsors on Premier League match-shirt fronts.
The 2026 renewal also broadens the relationship. For the first time, Betano branding is included on the sleeve of FC Porto’s women’s team as it begins competing in the top tier of Portuguese women’s football. That expansion makes the sponsorship less dependent on the men’s senior side alone. It also places Betano across several parts of the club’s football structure: the first team, B team and women’s team. For a partnership that has already lasted five years, extending the number of teams involved is a logical way to add new rights rather than merely repeating the previous contract.
FC Porto also gives Betano a long-term association with a major domestic football name rather than only short-term visibility around individual competitions. According to Kaizen Gaming, the club won eight domestic titles during the first five years of the relationship. FC Porto’s management has also pointed to joint projects such as Inzone and other initiatives developed during the partnership. This history makes the 2026 renewal different from a newly signed advertising agreement: both organisations already have experience of working together, allowing future activity to build on existing supporter recognition and established club projects.
Viewed together, Tottenham, Aston Villa and FC Porto cover three distinct sponsorship functions. Tottenham provides a new global club association, strong digital reach and a future betting partnership focused on Europe and Latin America. Aston Villa provides continuity in the Premier League after Betano’s two-year period as principal front-of-shirt sponsor, while adapting to the league’s new sponsorship environment through sleeve branding. FC Porto provides long-term, high-visibility shirt sponsorship in Portugal and extends the relationship across more teams within the club. Betano therefore gains different commercial advantages from each agreement instead of paying three clubs for identical rights.
The club deals also sit within a much broader football sponsorship programme. Betano has worked with major clubs and competitions across Europe and other regions, and its recent football activity has included sponsorship connected with UEFA competitions and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. That wider presence gives the Tottenham, Aston Villa and FC Porto agreements additional context. Individual club sponsorships provide regular contact with supporters throughout a domestic season, while tournament agreements can create intense visibility around shorter periods of international competition. Combining the two gives Betano a football presence that is not tied to one league or one calendar event.
The 2026/27 season therefore shows why football remains useful to Betano even as sponsorship rules evolve. The bookmaker does not need the same logo position at every club to maintain visibility. Tottenham offers training, stadium and digital exposure before moving into a regional betting partnership; Aston Villa keeps Betano on the match shirt through a permitted sleeve position; and FC Porto continues to provide full main-sponsor visibility under a deal running to 2029. The common thread is long-term association with established football names, while the exact sponsorship rights are adjusted to suit the club, country and regulatory conditions in which each agreement operates.
