That’s the way Mike Tyson has never been beaten. The fight with Holofield

The confrontation between the two heavyweights, Iron Mike and Evander Holofield, is remembered by many because the latter lost part of his ear. Tyson was infuriated by his opponent’s dirty boxing, and unexpectedly bit his ear.

Of course, Holofield had part of it sewn on immediately in the locker room, but a second boxer was facing a disqualification. A hefty fine was also awarded. And it is because of this that the fight will forever be remembered in history, although it lasted 3 rounds.

But it is worth noting their first fight. Originally this fight was supposed to take place in 1990, but first Tyson, unexpectedly for all, lost, and then was imprisoned. So we had to wait 6 years to see the fight. Of course, Mike’s speed and power was no longer the same, as for Evander, he also had his losses.

But at the same time in Tyson was still believed, and the fans just did not want to see that boxer lost some of his skills.  That said, his appearance remained intimidating. After prison, it only took him 8 rounds to win 4. So it looked as if Holyfield would cower before the fight. But he had other plans.

In the fight, as expected for Mike, he immediately attacked his opponent in an aggressive manner. The blows came one after another, but Evander defended himself smartly and made tough attacks.  And he wasn’t even afraid of Tyson, which was very important for him too.  He was getting beaten badly, but he did not deviate from his plan.

In fact, everything was simple, with time Evander began to seize the initiative, used the clinch at danger.  But already in the 5th round horror came for the fighter when Tyson used his opponent as a punching bag.  Holyfield was able to hold his own, but Iron Mike started to tire and in the 6th round he was knocked out.

Though he was able to get up, but everything became clear when his opponent had already taken the initiative and was beating his legendary opponent. Nobody had ever beaten Tyson like that before, even taking into consideration that from time to time he was throwing blows, but it didn’t help. Already in the 10th round Tyson found himself on the ring floor again. And even after that he got up. But it didn’t help, Evander continued to beat him until the referee stood between the fighters and awarded a technical defeat to Iron Mike.

Such a fight caused excitement and a rematch was almost immediately ordered. And even in the second fight, the betting was on Tyson to win. But he had a temper and bit off Holyfield’s ear, after which a massive fight broke out.

As Tyson himself admitted, he already wanted to bite him in the first fight, as he couldn’t admit that anyone would be better than him. He said he was very angry after he got out of prison and thought he was being treated badly and didn’t want all the belts.
