Fight of the year at UFC 281?

The UFC 281 tournament is coming up in a few days and there will be various big-name fighters. But the main one will be facing Dustin Porrier and Michael Chandler. It’s a classic bout with 3 rounds of 5 minutes each.

Will Porrier be able to claim the title for the 3rd time?

At the end of 2021, Dustin lost to Oliveira for the championship. And it was a really tough loss for him, Porter even thought of ending his career. Even taking into account that he has not been on the ring for almost a year he is now number two in the world ranking.

Although he was the champion, he was not a regular fighter. He was originally beaten by Nurmagomedov in 2019 and two years later by Oliveira.  But it has to be said that Porier performed decently, and in the case of the Brazilian he almost sent him to a knockout as early as the first round.

But the best fights are fights against legendary Irishman – McGregor, where he won twice early. And also the fight with Max Hollowham. In fact, in light-heavyweight it is Dustin who is now considered a versatile fighter, he has excellent boxing background while also having a jiu-jitsu belt.

What can Chandler do?

Speaking of Michael, he is a former Bellator lightweight champion.  There he was able to defeat Eddie Alvarez and the Pitbull Brothers. But in 2020, the fighter moved to the UFC. There he was also able to win brightly on several occasions.

After that there was a fight with Oliveira and one of his best performances against Gatje. That was last year.  And already this year, Michael was able to destroy a notable opponent, Tony Ferguson, with a killer front kick. Chandler is currently ranked #5, but should he win, he could very well go for the title.

Prediction for the fight

In fact, this event will be the jewel of the whole tournament. And both fighters are good in the standup, so it’s worth waiting for some spectacular exchanges. Especially since the fight with Islam Makhachev will be on the line.

Porier is considered the favourite for the fight, as he is more versatile and balanced.
