France and the 2022 World Cup champions

The coaching staff, currently led by Didier Deschamps, have published the entire list of players who will go to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It includes 25 people, and almost all are unaccompanied by any surprises. But there is one disappointment.

Uncertainty about the players

It’s no secret that there are a lot of really cool players in the national team. But at some point, circumstances and injuries can catch up with anyone. And if we’re talking about a player who is at the core of the whole system, there can be serious problems. Of course, the team at the Championship will have one objective – to win this tournament and defend the title.

But how can they achieve their goals if there are no key players. And due to this issue, the team’s chief doctor and coach have been stressed and have been taking sedatives. And for a few days the phone was literally bursting with constant calls and correspondence. There was no understanding of what to do when Benzema has a muscle injury, there is a problem with Varane’s Hip or Kimpebe’s Achilles. No understanding of who can be counted on. And also players have started to fall off during the week. Risky decisions have to be made.

But in the end, the coach did take a risk and included all three in the squad. But there is a chance that the players will arrive in Qatar still with health problems. November 16 is the last day when some changes can be made.  With Kante and Pogba unequivocally lost, as well as a number of other players, France will have big problems.

Main star

The only joy at the moment is the fact that Killian Mbappe, the team’s main star, is in good physical form. He performs very well not only for the national team, but also for the club. And it is worth saying that today he is the most expensive footballer, whose transfer fee is estimated at 160 million euros.

The FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be the team’s 16th tournament. And in every situation, France are favourites to win the tournament, so there have been successes, namely:

1. Two bronze medals.
2. one silver medal.
3. Two gold medals.

But given the current problems with the starting line-up, it will be very interesting to watch the national team play. Especially interesting is how Deschamps will solve the problems with the midfield, as key players will definitely be absent.
